With the recent announcement that Boeing will be building an assembly plant for the new 787 in Charleston the city is bubbling with excitement. At a time when the national and local economy is struggling this couldn’t have been better news. The plant will empoy an estimated 3,800 skilled workers. In addition there is expected to be a much larger number of employees working for vendors to Boeing in the area as the plant comes on line. Look for restaurants and shops to be filled with Boeing customers visiting the area to check on progress of their plane and related celebrations as planes are ready for delivery. Obviously this will have a very positive impact on the real estate market in Charleston. We have alreay worked with several Boeing families who are now living on Daniel Island. With the proximity to Daniel Island, we expect many of the new Boeing families will sellect the island as their new home.
